Encounters with the locals
“Via Alpina 2013: Meet the locals”, this was the title of the project by Thierry “Las Plumas”, a whole programme! Between 11 June and 25 August, he walked from Monaco to Trieste on the Red, Blue, Green and Yellow trails, sleeping mostly in his tent or in shelters found along the way.
On his blog, viaalpina2013.wordpress.com (in English) he shared day after day his progress, his encounters and splendid photos. The challenge has been fulfilled since over the language barriers, Thierry conversed with more than fifty inhabitants of the regions crossed, especially shepherds of all ages, whom he filmed at length during their work. There will be a lot of editing work in order to give us even more insight into this summer on the trails – to be continued!

As regards our Via Alpina Fellows, their four journeys were carried out as planned – Thomas Falk and his elephant are still on the trails until the end of the month.
