Via Alpina - Legal


The official Via Alpina website has been designed on behalf of the eight Alpine countries by the GTA association, 6 rue Clot-Bey, F-38000 Grenoble, France, tel.: (+33) 4 58 00 11 66. Email: gta@grande-traversee-alpes.com .

The site is optimised for screen resolution 1024x768 and for Mozilla Firefox 3 or higher and Internet Explorer 7 or higher.

This website is the property of the GTA association, in accordance with Articles L 111.1 ff. of the French Intellectual Property Code.

The website features (style, layout, content, structure) are protected by the right to designs, copyright and the laws on trademarks and images and cannot be copied or imitated without Via Alpina's consent.

Any person who fails to respect these legal requirements will be guilty of infringement of copyright and will be liable for the relevant legal penalties.

Photographs, text, logos, images, and all other original works on the site are the property of the GTA Association or of third parties who have consented to their works being used.

Paper or digital reproductions, transmissions, modifications or re-use of this site and the works thereon is only permitted for personal and private use, in accordance with Article L 122.5 of the French Intellectual Property Code. Any reproductions should also clearly indicate the source and author of the site and/or the multimedia works. In no case may reproductions infringe third-party rights.

Any reproduction, transmission, modification or re-use of part or all of the website for marketing, commercial or information purposes must be authorised by Via Alpina, and a partnership set up.

Via Alpina name and logo:
Via Alpina is an internationally registered trademark. Anyone seeking to use the name and/or logo other than for information purposes must be authorised to do so by Via Alpina and a partnership must be set up.

Database rights:
Database rights are protected under the French law of 1 July 1998 and French copyright law. Contributors and managers of the listed tourism organisations have the right to access and modify information. In order to exercise this right, they should contact (in order of preference): the local structure responsible for data collection, their National Via Alpina secretariat, or (as a last resort) the International Secretariat.

The RSS feed does not record any personal data and remains available with all RSS readers.

By uploading pictures or comments onto the website, users authorize the Via Alpina to use them for the communication on the trail exclusively. The e-mail address requested when comments are made on the website remains strictly confidential and will never be disclosed online. If need be this mail could be used by a website administrator or coordinator to contact the author of the comments for further details. Via Alpina reserves the right to delete any picture or comment which is inconsistent with the section's aims, editorial policy, or is illegal.

The website uses cookies when they are available on the user’s browser. No confidential data is recorded or stored, cookies are only used to improve the user’s navigation. If the user wishes to register on the website then the activation of cookies is required.

Our servers are not configured to collect personal information about visitors to the website other than the following technical data: connection source (ISP), IP address, browser type, version and language.

The traffic data is intended solely to allow us to analyse visits to our information pages with a view to improving the content. Visitor movements are not analysed by name. Consolidated statistics allow us to identify the most and least popular pages, the most popular pat hways, activity levels by day and by time, frequent user errors and server errors. We cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted over the Internet. Each user therefore bears sole responsibility for the contents of any correspondence.
