Carso Isontino LENGTH: 7-8 hours PROGRAMME: Along Saint Michael’s trench line, where the gas attack was carried out in June 1916, the trail takes us to the small village of San Martino del Carso – to which the poet Ungaretti dedicated a poem – then continues in the Battle Area, Filippo Corridoni Cippus, Frond Trench, up to the Battlefield of Mount Sei Busi and the defensive compound of Dolina dei Bersaglieri.
