Over two thirds of this community area is used for agriculture or nature preservation: one of the last torrential rivers, the Isar; Lenggries is also described as the "gateway to the Karwendel"; climatic spa resort; rafting or kayaking on the Isar; Sylvenstein reservoir; "Isarwelle" pool complex; Lenggries natural baths; Lenggries St.Jakob parish church (built in 1722 in Italian baroque style); Glentleiten open-air museum (last freestanding limestone oven - insight into rural life in upper Bavaria).
