Eita (1703m) is in Val Grosina a wide morainic plain (14.5km) that extends like a terrace over the valley below, and is visible in all its length right up to the border with Valtellina. The Church of the Immacolata (of Lourdes) locally known as the Madonna d’Eita, is worth a visit. During the summer months it draws shepherds and valley dwellers that come to attend the religious ceremonies providing in addition an occasion to gather for the popular festival of mid-August. Behind Eita there is a large area of pasture, whilst all around the houses there are meadows that spread beyond the torrent and right up to the alpine pastures of Cassavrolo (1925m) at the very centre of a vast grazing land. The path that leads to the Zandila Pass (2752m) starts from the alpine huts of this area, leading to Valdisotto. The opposite ridge begins at Avedo and reaches Pizzo Dosdè sloping then down amongst pastures, rocky overhangs and woods of larch and fir.
