From the village of Belvédère, the balcony trail leads along the GR® 52A above the embanked Vésubie valley heading to the village of La Bollène-Vésubie. Next, it starts out on a long ascent through woodland to reach the Turini pass, the stage destination not far from the Authion forts, part of the Maginot line.
Leave the village eastward, following the main road for about one hundred metres. At marker 89 of the Conseil Général (departmental authorities), take the path heading to the right, cross departmental road D171 and continue to descend towards the south east to reach a road. Follow it to the north east to cross the Gordolasque on the Véséou bridge. 400 metres after the bridge, at marker 247, take the path to the right that climbs directly southward into the forest to reach a little plateau (location mark 866). Continue to the east to reach a road. Follow it to the west for about 350 metres and, before the bend, take the path that descends to the south. The path cuts across the road several times and descends towards the little Planchette valley to climb again and arrive at Boléne-Vésubie. Walk through the village centre of Boléne-Vésubie as far as marker 203. On leaving the village, take the path that descends to the west, cutting across the road climbing to the village 4 times. The trail heads to the south, crosses the Riou de la Boléne and a little higher up, heads in two different directions (marker 185). Take the path to the left which heads eastward up into the forest (red and white markings). Pass below the Escalette peak to reach a forest track. After crossing three small valleys, take the path on a hilltop that heads to the right (red and white markings - marker 190), to cut across a bend in the track and then rejoin it higher up. In wet weather, stay on the track as the path crosses a valley line with rounded, moss-covered rocks that can be slippery. Continue along the track, still climbing uphill and leaving the tracks heading downward on the left behind. Keep following the red and white markings to reach departmental road D2566, which must be followed as far as the Turini pass. (Paul Guglielmi, CDRP 06)
Natural and cultural heritage
On leaving the village of Belvédère, which as the name indicates offers a magnificent vantage point, the trail leads into the peripheral zone of the Mercantour National Park, along an overhang above the Vésubie valley, and then climbs up to the Turini pass. This section still has obvious traces of military activity along the Franco-Italian borders. Below Belvédère, this military presence is announced by the Millo camp, then the Rivet shooting range, and finally the famous Authion massif with its imposing forts and the Maginot line. There are, however, other types of heritage to enrich the landscape. The baroque churches and chapels are a sign of ongoing faith, the grain mills and cultivated fields an indication of daily activities, and the many fountains, streams and brooks irrigate the verdant stretches of land. Furthermore, the Praî spring is known for its beneficial effects on the kidneys and intestines. Just after the village of Bollène-Vésubie, the trail dives into the heart of the Turini forest, a luxurious mixture of larch, fir and spruce. The route then takes a forest track, doubtlessly once used by military troops to gain access to the pass, to reach the Turini pass. This pass marks the southern limit of the central zone of the Mercantour park, set aside for the preservation of natural assets. (Sara Zeidler, Gilles Chappaz, Grande Traversée des Alpes)

Monaco- Trieste
Decided to take the M2565 to Roquebilliere. There is a Carrefour along the way. "Camping Les Templiers" outside of Roquebilliere.
Would only recommend this option, if you need to resupply.
