The community of Schönau is the largest tourist community in Bavaria and offers numerous accommodation possibilities and Kneipp spas. The electric boat takes you comfortably across to St. Bartholomä, as does the Hintersee boat. The Königssee lake is of drinking water quality. For it to remain so, a sewage system was installed at a very early stage in the area, which takes the waste water to Berchtesgaden and the local treatment plant. Moreover, only electric boats are allowed on the lake, thus keeping the water pollution level at virtually zero.
