Röns
RÖNS (610m above sea level, 300 inhabitants) is the smallest community in the Vorarlberg region, with a surface area of 1.3km². Röns, already inhabited in the early Middle Ages (mentioned in 842 by the name of Reune) has had a chapel since the 14th century - today's church of St. Magnus was built in 1495 - but it nevertheless remained in the parish of Schlins, situated lower down. A vine in the coat of arms of the community, independent since 1864, reminds us that Röns was surrounded by vineyards until the end of the 19th century.
