Seckau
With its 800-year old history, Seckau has for a long time been a hub of cultural activity. The centre is the Benedictine monastery, founded as the Augustinian Chorherrenstift monastery in 1142, with the impressive Roman basilica or the "Angel" chapel, in which Prof. Herbert Boeckl presented themes between 1952 and 1960 on St John's Revelation using fresco techniques. The monastery's Renaissance structure also offers you the chance to taste the monastery schnapps in its distillery.
