Just slightly below, between the 4th and 3rd Cantoniera roads one finds the little church of S. Raineri (2341m) commemorating the Lombard-Venetian Viceroy who had it built during the construction of the road itself. In it was a precious canvas of the painter Hayez now kept in Bormio; in the nearby cemetery the dead of the Ortes-Cevedale line during the 1st World War were buried.
